Paulo Pires do Vale is a philosopher, university professor, essayist and curator.

He was President of AICA (International Association of Arts Critics) – Portugal.

Since 2019, he has been Commissioner of the National Arts Plan, an initiative of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education, to bring the arts, heritage and culture closer to the lives of citizens, in particular children and young people.
