
David Anderson is Director General of Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales since 2010.
He began his museum career as an educator at the Royal Pavilion and Museums, Brighton, before moving to the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, and then the V&A, where he was Director of Learning and Interpretation.
From 2013 to 2015 he was President of the UK Museums Association. He has written many articles on museums and cultural policy, a UK government report on museums and learning, and two children's books.
At National Museum Wales, he has overseen the development of new programmes on the role of museums in society, including initiatives to redress the impacts of poverty on children through cultural participation.
He has also established a Research Department to support both curatorial and learning research.
