Aleksandra Berberih-Slana is director of the National Liberation Museum Maribor, a special museum of modern history, since 2006.
Besides being a director, also working as a curator and in charge of a collection of 250.000 objects, photos and documents.
She is the president of the Slovenian Museum Association since 2015, a board member of ICOM Slovenia, a member of many expert working groups in the field of cultural heritage and frequently appointed as a Slovenian representative at international experts conferences.
Aleksandra Berberih-Slana is graduated from the Faculty of Education at the University of Maribor in 1997.
In 2000, obtained Master's degree and in 2003 successfully defended doctoral thesis with the title “Slovene-Croatian Political Relations from 1918 until 1926” and was granted the title of Doctor of Historical Sciences.
